Welcome to Images of Italy
I have lived in Tuscany for twenty years, ever smitten by the stunning beauty of my surroundings and always endeavouring to capture it in watercolour. I am so happy to share my passion for this wonderful country with you, and I really hope you enjoy browsing my collection.

Lyrical Landscapes
Fields and Flowers
Experience the serene beauty and stunning vistas of the Italian countryside , rich in colour and beauty.
'I walk my dogs every day, through the most amazing countryside; there are the ancient olive trees - gnarled and twisted; the amazing fields of sunflowers, in their serried ranks always turning to face the sun - in fact their Italian name is girasole... which is more or less turning with the sun. These are my ever present sources of inspiration.'
Wonderful Waterscapes
Lake Life and Seascapes
Dive into a world of subtle colours and watery wonder with Hazel’s paintings of Lake Trasimeno.
'Although I live in Tuscany, Umbria and Lake Trasimeno are only an half hour drive away. I am definitely a water girl… I love to be in it, on it, or painting it. Its not just the lake itself, and the glorious nature, but also the fascinating paraphernalia of the fishing community. The lake, which is the fourth largest in Italy, is stunning in all its moods, and in every weather.'

Abstracts, Animals and Oddities
Capture the essence of Hazel Murray’s abstract pieces, her cityscapes, plus her special animal portraits.
'Surrounded as I am by so many ancient ruins, I am fascinated by the idea of the echoes of past lives, and the mysteries of history. Although inspired by reality, each piece is a work of fantasy. Also, since I have four rescue dogs and one very special cat, animals are a big part of my life, with my paintings spanning memories of safaris in Africa to the wildlife in my back garden '
